a Posture of Humility
As followers of Jesus, it is essential to connect our minds, hearts, and attitudes of humility when engaging with theology and our relationships with others. "Knowledge puffs up, but love builds up" (1 Corinthians 8:1). We approach Scripture with humility, asking God to open the eyes of our hearts so that we may understand the hope to which He has called us. (Ephesians 1:18)
CORE BELIEFS
-
We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired, authoritative, and trustworthy Word of God. Scripture is our final authority for faith, doctrine, and daily living—revealing God’s heart, shaping our identity, and guiding our obedience. We are rooted in the Word as our foundation for truth and transformation (2 Timothy 3:16–17; 2 Peter 1:20–21; Psalm 119:105; Hebrews 4:12).
-
We believe in one eternal God, the Creator of all things, who exists eternally as three distinct yet fully unified persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Equal in nature, power, and glory, the Trinity is worthy of our worship, trust, and obedience (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; John 1:1–4; Colossians 1:15–17).
-
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God—fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, revealed the Father, proclaimed the Kingdom of God, and demonstrated God’s power and compassion. Jesus is the only way to reconciliation with God (John 1:14; Philippians 2:5–11; Hebrews 4:14–15; John 14:6).
-
The Holy Spirit is the third Person of the Trinity, who brings conviction of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and works supernaturally to bring new life in Christ. He baptizes believers into the body of Christ, dwells within them, and seals them for redemption. The Holy Spirit comforts and teaches us, empowers us with spiritual gifts, reminds us of Jesus’ words, and faithfully leads us into all truth (John 14; 16:8–11; 2 Corinthians 3:6; 1 Corinthians 12:12–14; Romans 8:9; Ephesians 5:18).
-
We believe humanity was created in God’s image—good, purposeful, and relational. Through sin, humanity became separated from God, unable to restore itself. Our only hope of redemption is found in Jesus Christ, who came to reconcile us to God (Genesis 1:26–27; Romans 3:23; Romans 5:12; 2 Corinthians 5:18–19).
-
We believe salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ—His death, burial, and resurrection. Salvation cannot be earned through good works but is freely given to all who believe and surrender their lives to Him (Ephesians 2:8–9; Romans 10:9–10; Titus 3:5; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4).
-
We believe repentance is a wholehearted turning away from sin and a turning toward God. Through repentance and faith, we receive forgiveness, new life in Christ, and ongoing transformation by the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38; Acts 3:19; 2 Corinthians 5:17).
-
We believe sanctification is the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit, setting believers apart for God’s purposes. As we yield to Him, we are continually formed into the likeness of Christ—growing in holiness, obedience, and love (1 Thessalonians 4:3; Romans 12:1–2; 2 Corinthians 3:18).
-
We believe God desires His people to live whole and flourishing lives—spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically, relationally, and financially. Healing is demonstrated in the ministry of Jesus and remains a provision of His atoning work. While trials are part of life, God uses all things for His glory and our good, whether healing is experienced now or in eternity (Isaiah 53:4–5; James 5:14–16; 3 John 2; Philippians 4:19).
-
We believe the Church is the Body of Christ—Spirit-filled, sent, and alive. Every believer is an essential member, called to participate in God’s mission, grow in community, and fulfill the Great Commission both locally and globally (Ephesians 1:22–23; 1 Corinthians 12:12–27; Matthew 28:19–20).
-
We believe water baptism is a command of Jesus and a public declaration of faith. Baptism symbolizes our identification with Christ in His death, burial, and resurrection and marks our entry into a life of discipleship (Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3–4).
-
We believe the Lord’s Supper is a sacred act of remembrance and communion. Through the bread and the cup, believers proclaim Christ’s sacrifice, celebrate His presence, and anticipate His return (1 Corinthians 11:23–26; Luke 22:19–20).
-
We believe the baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift promised by the Father and available to all believers. This empowerment enables believers to live boldly, witness effectively, and operate in spiritual gifts, including tongues, as the Spirit leads (Acts 1:8; Acts 2:1–4; Acts 10:44–46; Luke 11:13).
-
We believe Jesus Christ will return bodily and visibly to establish His Kingdom in fullness. His return will be sudden and certain, calling believers to live with hope, readiness, and faithfulness (Acts 1:11; Revelation 1:7; Matthew 24:30, 36).
-
We believe that those who trust in Jesus Christ are welcomed into God’s presence after death and will dwell with Him forever. We believe Hell is the eternal separation from God for those who reject Christ. Every person’s eternal destiny is determined by their response to Jesus (John 14:2–3; Matthew 25:46; Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 21:1–4).
-
We believe God created humanity male and female in His image, designed for relationship and intimacy. Marriage is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman, entered into for life. God calls all believers to sexual holiness and empowers transformation through the work of the Holy Spirit. Singleness and marriage are both honored as gifts for faithful devotion to the Lord (Genesis 1:26–27; Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4–6; 1 Corinthians 6:11; Hebrews 13:4).
-
We believe Jesus is alive, reigning, and returning. We live with confident hope—anchored in His promises, empowered by His Spirit, and committed to living on purpose for His Kingdom (1 Peter 1:3–5; Hebrews 6:19; Titus 2:13).
